New album done & dusted

Finally! Here is an interview with Nick from InTheMix ahead of his forthcoming Australia tour:

"It’s been in the works for a lengthy four years, but last week inthemix spoke on the phone with Global Underground regular Nick Warren who confirmed that Way Out West, the dance duo that he operates alongside production partner Jody Wisternoff, have just put the finishing touches on their brand new album.

“We finished the Way Out West album today, so all is rosy over in Bristol,” Warren told ITM on Friday morning. He says they’re extremely pleased with the results, and that it’s their best effort so far by a mile. “It’s a slight change of tact for us. We’ve been very influenced by the whole ‘Cosmic Disco’ thing in Europe, guys like Lindstrøm from Scandanavia… It’s only male vocals on this album, but it ranges from zero BPM up until 130BPM. It’s almost like Pet Shop Boys making a very cool underground record.”

Expect a long-player that’s very much in touch with Warren and Wisternoff’s clubbing roots. “There’s gonna be around 14 tracks on the album, and seven or eight of them are club based. So it’s still very much of a club-based, electronica album.” "

Album Title

Yep, we’ve got one. And it is..”We Love Machine”. Mix downs still going very well, there is an end in sight. There’ll be a Youtube promo up of one of the tracks in the next couple of weeks so we’ll let you know once it’s ready to go. The footage will be filmed at Nick’s show at Babalou Brixton on the 7^th Feb.

Happy New Year to you all. We did say we’d have the album mixed down by now but after a couple of false starts elsewhere we’ve bought a pair of these beauties, Adam A7 speakers to get the sound we were aiming for elsewhere but didn’t get and are doing the mix downs at our own place instead.
