  3. Album is great, but why there is no track called "Spaceman"?

  4. Brilliant album, I particularly like the offer of the digital download on purchase, great concept.

  5. Absolutely AMAZING album! I echo Rob in saying the concept of immediate download is terrific.

  6. "Spaceman" was already released as a single last year. What's the fuss?

  7. Hey, powers that be, can us deluxers (at the very least) be given access to a FLAC of "Sparkle?" I was under the impression it was an exclusive to Itunes but I'm seeing it available on DJTunes, Beatport and JunoDownload.

  8. Exceptional album. Way Out West's finest hour since their first album masterpiece. Refreshingly different yet still holding true to your original sound. Fantastic purchase options that cover all bases. Couldn't commend you highly enough of this.

My only criticism is the inclusion of 'Survival'... a bit of a black sheep. Would LOVE to have the option of purchasing an instrumental version of the album much like your 'Driving Instrumentals'. This would fix my issues with 'Survival' and to a lesser extent, 'Bodymotion'. Imogen Heap has a special edition instrumental version of her new album. Hint hint.

Brilliant stuff guys. Off for some more machine love!

  9. I find the album incredibly underwhelming. I haven't been so disappointed since the last WOW record...but at least Anything But You had a discernible and distinctive presence (despite being very generic in places).

I'm sorry guys, but you're tainting Wow's legacy by continuing to release records - you're starting to sound like your imitators.

This is barely more than regressive house

  10. Every 4-5 years, there's a celebration in my house when a new WOW album comes out. Absolutely LOVE the overall laidback and warm mood of the album. Another greatness in the discography :)

Would Nick Warren please come to Kuala Lumpur and record GU39 or GU40 Kuala Lumpur here :D

  11. Having followed WOW since their early 90's debut, this album is another huge milestone in the career of two awesome producers. Individually Nick & Jody are superb, but collectively they are much more than the sum of their parts. A stunning album containing intricate detail and virtuoso production flourishes that leave other genre artists trailing way behind. The instant download is a great innovation too. A limited edition double-vinyl would have been an awesome additional format, but my deluxe pack is on order and I can't wait !!! From a fellow Bristolian, you've done us proud - keep up the great work !!! :D

  12. I'm disappointed with FLAC quality, every quality-checking tool says it was MPEG compressed. Should have ordered a CD, and not trust in "CD quality" for the same price as mp3...

Great album anyway, thanks for your hard work.

  14. Unfortunately we can't get in touch direct with the person who complained about the FLAC quality, but we want to correct the anonymous comment that the FLACs are mpeg compressed, which the are not. This is what the technical team say: "the encoder we use for creating FLAC files is called FFmpeg so this is probably what the fan is seeing when looking at file info."

Thanks for all the other comments!

  15. Really nice stuff guys... and like others I am stoked about the flexibility of buying directly from you and your website and the options are nice. I'm still debating between the second two... I will probably bite the bullet as having more t-shirts around is always nice :)

Funny to hear one comment about the survival song... I actually can't get enough of it and I think it adds a really nice variety to the mix of trax... keep up the suberb work guys and hopefully when you guys come stateside I will be able to see both or one of you in Atlanta... Cheers.

  16. Interestingly, on the point of the FLACs and audio quality, I just used a program called AudioChecker to validate the losslessness of the FLACs and it is indeed detecting the quality as predominately being that of "MPEG." Track 12 is the only exception being shown as "CDDA" quality as a comparison. These analyzers are not infallible/perfect, so I am going to remain hopeful that these FLACs are indeed lossless copies of their masters. ;)

  17. Of course I jumped at purchasing the deluxe option without hesitation. I've been waiting for this CD for what seems like an eternity... you guys are one of the few in the electronica music industry who never seem to disappoint.

After a couple of durations, this album definitely does not disappoint. It's not as slick and polished as Don't Look Now, but it feels right at home as a sort of downtempo anthem. Some might be disappointed because after 5 years of waiting it was impossible to top Don't Look Now. But instead of fighting fire with more fire, you went a different route--with solid results.

My faves so far are Only Love, Pleasure Control, and The Doors are Where the Windows Should Be. Overall, it reminds me a lot of your debut album. Good job guys. Still at the top of my favourite duo artists list. Add San Francisco to your tour destinations!

  18. Really good album with nice sounds. However, I would rather that you use more female vocals as in "Don't Look Now" than male vocals in this new album. All songs are great. Keep up the good work!!!

  19. Of course I had to buy the deluxe edition--blindly. You're one of the few acts whose releases I eagerly anticipate because you both just don't disappoint. And after a few spins, this album definitely does NOT disappoint.

In a way, for me at least, topping Don't Look Now would've been impossible. It still ranks as my favourite WOW album, and in my top 5 of all-time electronic albums. Killa still gives me goosebumps. But We Love Machine is good because it works on a different level. Some of my faves include Pleasure Control, Only Love, and The Doors are where the Windows Should Be.

Overall, well done gents. Stop by in San Francisco if you're on the West Coast!

  20. I've been listening to this album almost non-stop on my Walkman since I bought it last week and it gets better and better with each play in my opinion. I've been a huge fan of WOW since I heard Ajare and Domination back in the mid-90s.

Standout tracks for me are We Love Machine, Survival, Only Love, Future Perfect and my personal favourite, Tales of the Rabid Monks. That said, there isn't a single weak track here. Magnificent. Best album of 2009 for me. Well done, WOW.
